Southeastern Ontario Academic Medical Organization

The Southeastern Ontario Academic Medical Organization (SEAMO), founded in 1994, is made up of the Clinical Teachers’ Association of Queen’s University, Kingston Health Sciences Centre, Providence Care and Queen’s University.

Our mission is to support the delivery of outstanding healthcare, foster excellence in research and education and facilitate the transformation of academic medicine in Southeastern Ontario.

Like all other SEAMO Departments, the Department of Family Medicine has a mix of clinical services, education, and research activities. Unlike some of the other Departments, Family Medicine physicians complete their work all across the southeastern region.

On November 18, the provincial government announced that the Frontenac, Lennox and Addington Ontario Health Team (FLA OHT) is one of thirteen new teams approved to bring together health service providers to better coordinate health care and services for the approximately 226,100 individuals, families and caregivers in the Southeastern region. SEAMO is one of close to 60 partners signed to the FLA OHT.
