History
1994
The Clinical Teachers’ Association of Queen’s University, Hotel Dieu Hospital, Kingston General Hospital, Providence Care and Queen’s University enter into a funding agreement with the Ontario Ministry of Health and the Ontario Medical Association to establish the Southeastern Ontario Academic Medical Organization (SEAMO).
2005
SEAMO enters into a new funding agreement with the Ministry of Health and the Ontario Medical Association that introduces the concept of accountability through shadow billing.
2009
SEAMO establishes a Task Group on Allocation System Review (TGASR) to align funding with deliverables and foster strong performance.
2013
With the implementation of the new Accountability Framework, SEAMO links funding to performance with metrics for clinical activities, teaching and research.
2015
The SEAMO Governing Committee approves a new three-year Strategic Plan to guide the organization into the changing landscape of healthcare.
2022
SEAMO launches the next iteration of a Strategic Plan to shape the next five years of the organization.
