SEAMO Clinician Scientist Dr. Neil Renwick Receives Provincial Innovation Fund Award

Project: Optimizing cancer care delivery through maximally informative molecular diagnostics

SEAMO is celebrating a major milestone with the announcement that Dr. Neil Renwick has been selected by the Innovation Fund Provincial Oversight Committee to receive a 2025 Innovation Fund Award in the Cancer category. This marks the first time a SEAMO project has been recognized at the provincial level, and it highlights the depth of impact our clinician scientists bring to patient care and discovery.

We welcomed three new physicians in November 2025!

We’re excited to introduce the newest members of our community. These physicians began their roles in November, and we’re pleased to welcome them to SEAMO.

Dr. Marek Gruca joins the Department of Medicine in the Division of Hospitalist Medicine. He earned his MD from St. George’s University and completed his Internal Medicine residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University. Prior to joining Queen’s, Dr. Gruca served as a hospitalist and Vice-Chair of Medicine at Carilion Clinic in Virginia.

Welcoming ten new physicians in August and September 2025!

We were happy to welcome one new physician to Team SEAMO in August 2025.

Dr. Connor McGuire joins the Department of Surgery as a plastic and reconstructive surgeon. He completed his medical degree and residency at Dalhousie University, followed by fellowship training in adult craniofacial surgery at the University of Toronto and aesthetic surgery in New Zealand. Dr. McGuire brings expertise in craniofacial trauma, aesthetic surgery, and reconstructive care.

Dr. Tiffany Chow joins the Department of Family Medicine. She earned her MD from the University of Toronto in 2018 and completed her family medicine residency at Queen’s University. With a strong commitment to comprehensive, community-based primary care, Dr. Chow brings valuable expertise to support the health needs of Kingston and the surrounding region.

Midwives Now Using eConsult: Supporting Better Access to Specialist Advice

Did you know that Midwives are now able to send eConsults through the Ontario eConsult Service?

In collaboration with the Association of Ontario Midwives, the Ontario eConsult Centre of Excellence has launched the Midwives Access to eConsult Advice (MACA) project. This initiative enables midwives to access timely, client-specific specialist advice through eConsult on the OTNhub platform.
