In October, SEAMO is thrilled to introduce two new physicians in the Department of Family Medicine.

The Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) is based out of Providence Care Hospital (PCH), where its clinics account for over 75 per cent of all medical outpatient clinical work.

Having a conceptual model for Physician Wellness is important to illustrate and communicate the organization’s overarching vision, as well as to focus strategies for addressing wellbeing. There are many models used successfully in various organizations, and after discussion, the Physician Wellness Advisory Committee agreed to adopt the Stanford Model of Professional FulfillmentTM as it best reflects our vision for wellness.

We are pleased to share that on Monday, September 13, 2021 our Governing Committee endorsed the five new strategic priorities for SEAMO.

Since the spring, SEAMO has worked with our Departments on five eConsult pilot projects.

The Division of Dermatology has been the busiest receiver of referrals for a long time. SEAMO is pleased to welcome Dermatology into a brand new eConsult pilot project, encouraging referring physicians to send an eConsult to this team of doctors instead.

On July 30, the Ministry of Health released a new INFOBulletin stating temporary OHIP physician services funding is being extended until September 30, 2022.
