The eConsult Program would not be what it is without the incredible work of nurse practitioners. SEAMO would like to recognize the top 5 nurse practitioners who have contributed to eConsults over the past year and say congratulations!

Deputy Head of the Department of Pediatrics and Chair of the Division of General Pediatrics Dr. Richard van Wylick says he is looking forward to seeing more practitioners take advantage of the eReferral services in the future.

This summer, SEAMO is pleased to welcome two new team members to assist with all things digital health within the organization.

Orthopedic specialist Dr. Aaron Campbell is currently taking part in a pilot project for the Division of Orthopedic Surgery to evaluate if eConsult is a viable method to address patients’ concerns and needs.

SEAMO is pleased to introduce a new Endocrinology pilot project using the eConsult Program.

Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) is the use of an ultrasound imaging device at the bedside of patients and Dr. Amer Johri from the Department of Medicine at Queen’s University says it could become as common as the stethoscope.

Psychiatry as a specialty made up three per cent of the total number of eConsults sent in the past 12 months. Dr. Sarosh Khalid-Khan would like that number to increase.
